Principle investigator
Nhat Truong Nguyen
Nhat Truong Nguyen is an assistant professor at the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, Concordia University, Canada. He received his Master's degree at the University of Science and Technology, South Korea, and his Ph.D. degree in Materials Engineering at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg under the supervision of Prof. Patrik Schmuki in 2017. Before joining Concordia University, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Toronto with Prof. Geoffrey Ozin.
Graduate students
Camilo Perdomo - PhD student
Camilo Perdomo-Madrigal obtained a BA in chemistry in 2011 and a MSc in chemistry in 2015 from the National University of Colombia. Currently, he is conducting his PhD in our research group, exploring new strategies for the synthesis of TiO2-based photocatalysts. When he's not in the lab, he's probably cooking and discovering new flavours and recipes in the kitchen.
Shadrack Yimbila - MASc student
Shadrack was born in the golden city of Obuasi, Ghana. He completed his B.Sc. in Petrochemical Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana). Currently, he is a graduate student, and his research is focused on green techniques for synthesizing a photocatalyst using TiO2 for hydrogen production. In his free time, he likes to indulge in his passion for football, either by watching or analyzing games.
Joseph-Daniel Chiong - MASc student
Joseph Daniel Chiong obtained his BSc Chemistry degree (Co-op option) at Concordia University in 2021. During and after this degree, obtained experience in various industries including research in biotechnology and quality control in the plastic and beverage industry. Currently pursuing his MSc. Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (joint supervision with Prof. Majewski in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department), his research focuses on nanomaterial synthesis, surface sensitization and photoelectrochemistry. Outside of the lab, he enjoys his time doing physical activities such as weight training and climbing.
Co-supervisor: Prof. Marek B. Majewski in Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry
